Home Theater & Home Audio Installation in SW Wisconsin

Surround sound, in-ceiling speakers, whole-home audio and the TV on the wall with no cables showing, wired by licensed electricians.

The Clean Install: Power, Picture and Sound Inside the Walls

A theater or audio system looks its best when nothing shows: the TV on the wall with its outlet behind it, speakers in the ceiling, the receiver in a closet, one remote. That takes an electrician who is comfortable with low-voltage wire and knows where the studs, joists and existing circuits are.

Sparks runs the speaker wire, HDMI and network cable, adds recessed outlets and dedicated circuits, mounts the TV and connects your gear. Bring equipment you already own or ask us to spec a system.

Finishing a Basement?

Pre-wire is the cheapest time to do this. We run speaker, HDMI and network cable before the drywall goes up and leave a labeled bundle at the equipment location, even if the gear comes later.

Living Rooms and Family Rooms

The TV goes on the wall with a recessed outlet and an in-wall rated cable kit behind it, so no cord shows and nothing is run through the wall that does not belong there. A soundbar or a pair of in-ceiling speakers, a shelf or cabinet for the gear, and the room is done.

Dedicated Theater Rooms

A projector on its own circuit, the screen wired for power, 5.1 or 7.1 speaker runs to the right spots, a sub location that works, and lighting on dimmers with a movie scene. Because we are electricians, the lighting, the outlets and the low-voltage wiring come from one crew on one plan.

Whole-Home Audio

In-ceiling speakers room by room, with volume control on the wall or in an app, plus zones for the patio, garage and shop. We run the wire back to one amplifier location and label every pair, so the system is easy to expand later.

Across the River in Minnesota

Calls in La Crescent, Winona, Caledonia, Houston and the other southeast Minnesota towns we serve are handled by our master electrician licensed in Minnesota. Electrical permits and inspections there go through the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you hide the TV cables in the wall?

Yes. We use an in-wall rated power kit and run the HDMI and network cable through the wall to the gear, which is the code-compliant way to do it. Extension cords and plug cords are never buried in a wall.

Do I need to buy the equipment first?

Either way works. Many customers already own the TV, receiver and speakers. If you want help choosing, we spec a system that fits the room and the budget you give us.

Can you add surround sound to a finished room?

Usually. We fish wire through the attic or basement and plan routes that keep drywall work to a minimum, and we tell you ahead of time if a small access hole will be needed.

Does a home theater need its own circuit?

Amplifiers, projectors and powered subwoofers on a shared circuit are what trip breakers mid-movie. A dedicated 20-amp circuit for the equipment is the usual fix, and we add it when we wire the room.

Can everything run from one remote or app?

Yes. We set up the remote or app for the gear you choose so the whole family can turn it on and watch without a lesson.
